Botox Injection Treatments
Botox came about in the year of 1970 and is used for the treatment of wrinkles. The injection is a form of bacterial toxin. It is injected into the skin in order to prohibit movement of the muscles thus prohibiting wrinkles for a certain time period until the toxin wears off. Botox is injected so that the nerves cannot cause as much movement which relaxes the face.
Once a person has the injection, they can expect to see results within a week. During this time bruising and swelling should decrease. The injection’s results are not permanent, it will begin to wear off in a matter of four to six months. After this time period, the wrinkles actually come back and are once again visible. As with any medical procedure, there are some side effects that can be experienced, including bruising, swelling, soreness, headaches, and eyelid drooping. It is important to keep in mind Botox does not treat all wrinkles, this is something that your surgeon will be able to discuss and determine with you. This treatment has been around for many years and is much more reliable and safe than it has been in the past years. Contact us at VIP cosmetic surgery to arrange a free consultation to discuss your requirements. If you choose to go ahead with the injections you should know that most insurance companies will not cover the procedure’s cost.
