Correction of Tuberous Breast
Tuberous breast deformity is a condition where a breast has minimal tissue, large and puffy areola, widely spaced breasts, sagging, narrow base and higher breast fold. The deformity can vary from mild to severe. It affects under 5% of all patients that choose to have breast augmentation.
Correction of tuberous breasts can be done with breast augmentation, although sometimes it can be a little more complicated than a normal breast augmentation. The correction includes breast implants and tissue expansion. There are plastic surgeons that specialise in tuberous breast correction and ideally you should look for a plastic surgeon with an interest in breast reconstruction. Correction makes the breasts more symmetrical and proportional with your body type. Just creating the balance and symmetry can make your breasts' appearance much better and can significantly improve your quality of life.
Recovery time is about 1 to 2 weeks. After about a week, you will start to feel like yourself again. The surgeon should prescribe some pain medication to take for the soreness in your chest. You should wear a supportive bra for the first month. Showering will be limited until after you have your dressings removed and driving will be restricted for the first two weeks. After 6 weeks, you should be able to resume all activities.
