How to Decide on The Implant Pocket, Shape and Volume

Chemical Peels Treatment

V.I.P. Cosmetic Surgery is proud to offer the Nobel Prize winning Cosmedix Chirally Correct Chemical Peels.

Due to the high cost of Chiral Correction, most mainstream brands of cosmetics and skincare do not purify their ingredients. Unfortunately, when harmful molecules are left complete, to cause inflammation and irritation, the skin will start to show signs of premature ageing. The ingredients in COSMEDIX chemical peels and the daily use home products have been highly purified to their most natural, potent form, resulting in ultimate effectiveness.

COSMEDIX are medical grade products, derived from plants and active botanicals, which work to stimulate, correct and repair the skin. Chirally Correct chemical peels are associated with better ingredients, less downtime and fewer unfavourable side effects than other chemical peels. No anaesthesia is required and they are safe enough to be repeated bi-monthly.

COSMEDIX use potent antioxidants and alternatives to harsh products such as GLYCOLIC ACID. Instead of glycolic, Cosmedix uses L-Lactic Acid. This softens the cells of the skin and encourages gentle exfoliation.

Did you know that four FDA studies have reported that using glycolic acid increases skin absorption of UV radiation by up to 10 times more?

Please note that some skin preparation might be needed before the peel is applied. This can take anything from 10 days to 4 weeks, depending on the area. V.I.P. stocks all COSMEDIX pre and post peel kits and skin nutrition products, to encourage healing from the inside out.

Botox Injection Treatments

Botox came about in the year of 1970 and is used for the treatment of wrinkles. The injection is a form of bacterial toxin. It is injected into the skin in order to prohibit movement of the muscles thus prohibiting wrinkles for a certain time period until the toxin wears off. Botox is injected so that the nerves cannot cause as much movement which relaxes the face.

Once a person has the injection, they can expect to see results within a week. During this time bruising and swelling should decrease. The injection’s results are not permanent, it will begin to wear off in a matter of four to six months. After this time period, the wrinkles actually come back and are once again visible. As with any medical procedure, there are some side effects that can be experienced, including bruising, swelling, soreness, headaches, and eyelid drooping. It is important to keep in mind Botox does not treat all wrinkles, this is something that your surgeon will be able to discuss and determine with you. This treatment has been around for many years and is much more reliable and safe than it has been in the past years. Contact us at VIP cosmetic surgery to arrange a free consultation to discuss your requirements. If you choose to go ahead with the injections you should know that most insurance companies will not cover the procedure’s cost.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can be great for a few different short term uses. These include problems such as facial wrinkles and scars. These fillers are injected into, or just beneath, the the skin. They work simply by ‘filling in’ dents or wrinkles.

The two commonest types of fillers are hyaluronic acid and fat.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance present in human skin. As such it is safe, there are no issues with allergy and so there is no need to undergo allergy testing. Once injected, the hyaluronic acid gel absorbs water and holds it thus producing a ‘filler’ effect.  Eventually, after 6 months or so, the hyaluronic acid gel is broken down naturally, releases the water and the ‘filler’ effect wears off. Hyaluronic acid fillers can last up to a year. They cause little bruising or swelling, and can be used to remedy a variety of problems with the skin.

Fat is a more permanent filler material. This is an exciting new field of cosmetic surgery and after a century of trying, the technique has been refined so that fat can be reliably removed from one part of the body and injected into another area to create a ‘filler’ effect. As the fat is harvested from and re-injected back into the same patient there are no issues of allergy or rejection. This is an excellent way of restoring the common changes in facial shape and volume which accompany the ageing process.

male breast reduction

Gynecomastia, or the growth and development of breast tissue in men, is a harmless yet unsightly problem which affects as many as twenty five per cent of adult men to some degree. The growth of breast tissue in men may be asymmetrical, meaning that it is more apparent on one side than the other. The causes of this problem are multi-factorial, and range from the environment to genetic factors. However, imbalances in hormones, primarily the ratio of testosterone and other androgens, versus oestrogens, are believed to be the main driver. This hormonal balance can occur for no discernible reason, or be provoked by medication and other environmental challenges.

The treatment for male breast growth takes multiple forms. It is important to note that breast tissue is not simply fat and thus conventional dieting and exercise has only a limited impact. For a limited number of individuals, breast reduction can be accomplished with medications which shift the hormonal balance. Nonetheless, these medications have serious side effects and are not effective for the majority of individuals. For most patients, male breast reduction is most definitively achieved via surgery, or a combination of surgery and medication.

Male breast reduction surgery is most effective for men who have had the condition for more than one to two years. Procedures vary depending on the type and amount of breast tissue, and the amount of fatty tissue, glandular tissue, and other structures that are involved. Liposuction can be used alone or as an adjunct to surgery for breast reduction. For individuals with sagging breast tissue or significant enlargement, cosmetic removal of excess skin and subcutaneous tissue is also a surgical possibility.
